In 1969, God Is No Fool delighted readers, consoled them, provoked them, and inspired them to consider God and life in new ways. The short musings in the book are funny, earnest, loving, probing, and full of joy. Reading this book, you will embark on a journey whose ultimate destination is a better understanding of faith, people, and the world around you. On the 40th anniversary of the original publication, Lois Cheney’s reflections are as powerful and necessary as ever.

Here’s what Amazon readers are saying about God is No Fool:

In all four Gospels, Jesus is relentlessly journeying to Jerusalem. God’s awesome purpose is behind every step Jesus takes towards his ultimate destination. We are also journeying toward our eternal destiny. God has given us the signposts, but we must seek out His way for us. Are we traveling the good and ancient path that God has marked out for each one of us? Or have we chosen another way? We are all undertaking this journey, but where we decide to go is a choice each one of us must make.

In part, Trail Thoughts was inspired by Eric Kampmann’s love of hiking the 2174 miles of arduous, beautiful paths of the Appalachian Trail. His time on the trail has taught him that we need to step out of our normal routines in order to experience firsthand the mystery and majesty of God’s universe. It is essential for us to have time and solitude for reflection if we are ever to hear God’s “gentle whisper.” He wrote this accessible devotional to help others who are on their own journeys, whether they have just begun the trip or they are seasoned travelers. Each day includes a wisdom passage from the Old Testament, along with a short reflection to help readers in their own journeys toward faith.

“Take the time to enjoy this wonderful book and you will discover that it was time well spent.” – Best Books Reviewed

“Selected by independent booksellers as a Book Sense Notable, is a quiet title with a reflective subject.” – Publisher’s Weekly
